An adult's right to play

An adult's right to play

Make a replica of this but just change the word child to adult and it still holds up.

Or; let's go a step further and just get rid of the word "adult" the same day we get rid of Daylight Savings Time.

"Adult" is just a myth perpetuated by Big Adult to make us work harder so they have more money to PLAY with.

We're all children. We're just big children who drive and swear and get back pain from tying our shoes. And we all want the same thing: the freedom to be ourselves.

Don't write-play as childish.

It's the real deal.

Here's some killer books I've downed over the last few years while building The Other Comedy Company that has informed a lot of our program, game and event decisions that are guiding future projects.

BOOKS ON PLAY (perfect book club & team reads):
- Playful by Cas Holman
- Homo Ludens: A Study of the Play Element in Culture by Yohan Huizinga
- The Ambiguity of Play by Brian Sutton-Smith
- Play, Dreams And Imitation In Childhood by Jean Piaget
- Finite and Infinite Games by James P. Carse
- Playing and Reality by D.W. Winnicott
- Play Matters by Miguel Sicart
- Surely, You're Joking Mr. Feynman by Richard P. Feynman
- The Good Neighbor: The Life and Work of Fred Rogers by Maxwell King
- Playing With Reality by Kelly Clancy
- The Maker Movement Manifesto by Mark Hatch
- Purposeful Curiosity by Dr. Constantine Andriopoulos
- The Experience Machine by Andy Clark
- From Ritual To Theatre by Victor Turner
- The Imagination Muscle by Albert Read
- Play: Dramaturgies of Participation by Jenn Stephenson & Mariah Horner
- A More Beautiful Question by Warren Berger

Also good adds if you're building a personal curriculum and looking to branch out and learn more about the serious necessity of play.

Okay bye.
