When Everything Screams

When Everything Screams

There are children who grow up to be comedians because they aren't happy and they want to make other people happy.

"I think the saddest people try their best to make people happy because they know what it’s like to feel absolutely worthless and depressed."

— Robin Williams

They know what it’s like to live in a body where everything screams. All at once.

Their brain screams for dopamine.
Their heart screams for love.
Their voice screams to be heard.
Their actions scream to be seen.
Their body screams to be safe.
Their inner child screams to be held.

What do we tell the people living in the temples WHERE EVERYTHING SCREAMS?

We tell them:

It’s not your fault.
You are allowed to rest.
You are worthy right now.
You always deserved safety.
You don’t have to fix everyone to matter.
You don’t deserve what happened to you.
You get to exist even when you’re not centre stage.
You don’t have to earn love by being useful, funny, or good.

There is a path back to yourself.
Not because the screaming stops.
Not because the hurt goes away.

But because you slow down to learn what it means to live inside yourself.

That means:

You love anyway.
You build anyway.
You laugh anyway.

You create a quiet place in your soul.
Even when everything screams.
